Camping, Floating and fishing vacations in Southern Missouri

Ozark National Scenic Riverways

Missouri is a great place to Vacation, there are places to camp in many areas close to the waters edge, also rent a canoe, raft or an inner tube and float one of our many clear streams in Southern Missouri. Some of the best streams to raft or canoe down are the Jacks Fork River or the Current River. You can take float trips that run from several days to a few hours. If you have never been on a float trip you are sure to remember this outdoor adventure. You will see some of the best scenery on a float down one of these streams. Bluffs line the rivers edge, The rivers are spring fed and the water is clear and cool, so be sure to take a rod and reel with you and do some fishing along the way. Also the Swimming is great.  Don't forget that floating in the Fall, when the leaves are turning colors will be some of the best scenery you will ever see, no matter if you are a visitor from another State or a resident of Missouri.

The Current River

The Current River starts its journey in the Montauk State Park and Winds its way down to where it meets up with Jacks Fork River. If Trout fishing is what you would like to do, then this is one place you do not want to over look. Trout are raised inside the park and released to be fished on a regular basis, this insures that the entire family can fish. As the Current Winds its way south past CedarGrove MO and on toward Akers Mo. from Montauk Springs there are several more springs that feed into the river along with other small creeks. Other Springs that feed into the Current are Welch Spring, Cave Spring, Pulltite Spring and Round Spring.  The river continues on and eventually the Jacks Fork River feeds into the Current River at a place called "Two Rivers"  the Current Continues on down and past Van Buren MO. and beyond.
