Anyone hunt pheasants with 20 GA
Do any of you hunt pheasants with a 20 gauge shotgun? I have always used a 12 Ga but I have a REM 11-87 that weighs 2 tons after a day of walking.
Short of getting a new 12 Ga I thought of using my Winchester 1200 20 gauge pump. Much lighter to carry but I never shoot it. Any thoughts?

You might lose a little range, but it will certainly work, I've killed my last 2 turkeys with a 20 ga, and they are a whole lot tougher than a
pheasant. I would probably look at some max load #6's, like the Remington Nitro Magnums.

have been told. Just use the right load. I read a post on another forum that a guy used Rem nitro #6 in 3" and was not hitting anything but when he
switched to the same #6 in 2 3/4" he was reaching out farther and started knocking down birds.

They (2 3/4") pattern good in my gun out to 30 yards, good enough for turkey hunting, I'm sure they would do the trick on pheasants at that range and
probably a little farther out.

My dad used to use a 20 gauge to pheasant hunt. It will kill them. Practice with some different loads out on the range, with clay birds or with game
farm pheasants.
My favorite thing to wear in the spring is a boss gobbler \"shawl\" draped over my shoulder.

I shoot a 20 ga. Browning Upland Special and brother shoots a 870 compact in 20 ga. Choose your birds and you will not have ot lug a rear axle
throught the pheasant fields.

we went on a pheasant hunt a couple years ago, we all took 20g shotguns with heavy field loads and had no problems knockin en out of the sky
Give a man a fish and he eats for a day, teach a man to fish and he'll sit on a boat and drink beer for days on end

There was a hunting show on last night where this old man was shooting, (and killing), pheasants with nothing more than a sling shot. So, surely a
20ga would do the job
Shoot like a girl... IF you can!!!
