suggestions for Memorial Day weekend?

10 posts in this topic

We are looking for a nice campground with stuff for kids to do for Memorial Day weekend. I\'ve scoured the internet and found many good ones it\'s just that I know looks can be deceiving both for the good and bad. Was hoping maybe someone on here would have some suggestions of previous stays etc. We are pulling a travel trailer and with gas prices climbing and time being an issue, I\'m wanting to stay within a 3 hour drive which covers most of Missouri. .... thanks in advance.

We really like Truman State Park near Warsaw. Great campground, beach and marina right in the park. Good fishing too. Lots of stuff to do and see in the area too.

I like Cape Fair on Table Rock Lake. For a major holiday weekend better get your reservation in fast.
Yeah.... table rock was pretty full already as far Corp grounds... we really let the ball slip this time. Lol I\'ll check out cape fair. Thank you

We really like Truman State Park as well but that is only 45 minutes from our house so we will probably keep that for a one night event. I signed up for the managed deer hunt there this last year. I would\'ve loved to been picked for that.

If ypu like fishing and floating these are pretty good people and they usually have music and a BBQ wagon on memorial weekend.http://www.jamesriveroutfitters.com/
you can\'t go wrong with the river and bbq. We will have to check into doing a float there this year. I\'ve never taken a young kid floating. Our youngest will be 2 in July so probably have to wait on that one. Sorry, I should\'ve specified our daughters are 7 and 2 lol

Can\'t go wrong with the State Park campgrounds. Nicer than the private ones, usually less expensive and very clean.
I was reading on their website that if you stay at 5 state parks in a year you can sendin for a patch and a certificate. I\'d say my daughter will think that\'s pretty neat. One place we\'d like to visit this year is Johnson\'s Shut ins. Have you ever been there?
