  1. Love the spalted wood. Even the riser seems a have a bit of spalt going on.
  2. Very Nice Buck, congrats !! Well done
  3. Congrats on a very nice buck
  4. The wife went everyday I think but I had work so only made a few trips. As mentioned in anouther post, Some of my Grand kids had hogs entered in the 4H Hog Show. Very proud Paw-paw here. Eldest G'daughter had 2 hogs (different classes) and took Grand Champion in class with one and Reserve Champion in class with the other. The eldest G'son also had 2 hogs (again different classes) and got Reserve Champion in both classes. Their little brother showed just one hog in the jackpot show and took Grand Champion in class. Kids did Great. The wife and I had a great time, Rodeo, Truck/Tractor Pulls, livestock shows, Parade, Kids parade, ect. Even got to try....Let's just call them "Rocky Mountain Oysters"... for the first time. Yes I'd eat them again. On after thought, them things scream for a bit of hot sauce. No, the wife did not and will not try them. Come to think of it, I don't think she even kissed me the rest of the night.
  5. Just selling all the meat for those cook outs. Working retail really messes up holidays and can have an adverse effect on how you feel about them.
  6. No Farmin' here in the burbs, but just up the highway, the grandkids have 4H pigs going. Dang things are like Big smelly puppies. Gentle as can be and LOVE attention.
  7. I'm going to pretend I know what all that stuff is. I seen 'maters at the end of one row, but the rest don't look like anything I ever tried to grow. The garden in general looks better than mine ever did !
  8. Nice job. Always wanted to try black powder for squirrels, but small cal rifles are hard to find and I never have the $ when I do.
  9. As I said before I check in almost nightly. Site has been down a few days and I was afraid Admin had pulled the plug. So glad that was not the case. If I didn.t work 7 days a week I.d certainly post more. These days I have to live vicariously (sp) through you folks, so get posting...PLEASE.
  10. I check in almost nightly. Glad to see someone put the New Years post down a notch.
  11. I checked it out years ago, and if memory serves they only accept large shipments. a dozen or so tails ain't gonna cut it.
  12. Glad you found your way back. Just keep posting and maybe we can get this place turned around. It would most likely cheaper to convert the 2400 you already have than buy a Marauder but the purpose built marauder will be a much neater unit.
  13. Looks like a good time was had by all. Is this a long bow only event ?
  14. His song days are over ! Nice job, get some more.
  15. Excellent !! I love seeing kids getting into the sport, especially girls. They tend to marry hunters and raise more hunters. Win/win.
  16. Nice work
  17. I had probs not catching rabbits in a boxtrap, but did catch one big 'possum with bait. An old timer told me a rabbit won't go in if he can't see a way out and no bait needed unless you want trash ( 'possums and the like). I promptly removed the end of my box trap and replaced with hardware cloth or small fan grill, quit using bait and started getting rabbits, lots of rabbits. They will chew through the hareware cloth if left unattended too long ( i reccomend once morning and once evening). That's why I started using fan guards. Could make a weave from coat hanger wire as well. Worked for me, but your milage may vary.
  18. Just saw this on fb and mocon site. Glad to see some but not so thrilled with others. http://mdc.mo.gov/newsroom/commission-approves-changes-2016-2017-deer-regulations
  19. I stand corrected. On my laptop the pink feathers show no ribbing and therefore look like smooth vanes. On closer exam I can just make out a few ribs.
  20. They look great. You make a good case for the pink color. Not sure I've ever seen anyone mix feathers and vanes on the same shaft before. Pardon my ignorance, I've been out of the loop for awhile. Why ?
  21. Congrats to the kid. Great to see traditions being passed along.
  22. O'kay, I know theres got to be a back story on the "STILL !". Very nice job.
  23. My personal code of ethics would be what ever range you shot that at. My cut off is when I can no longer hold a 6 inch or less group. As I said "my personal" as I don't expect others to hold to my code, only I have to. If that is the best I can do at 20 yds, then 20 is my limit, until I can do better.
  24. But I don't judge or fault people for finding fulfillment in that kind of thing.
