  1. So, my family and I venture home to TX for the holidays, two days before Thanksgiving my old F250 gets stolen right out in front of the house. The following day the state trooper find my truck on the side of the road still running with flat right rear tire headed South for the border. Major engine repairs may have to be implemented so I had to leave my truck in TX until after the new year. Still waiting for the insurance company to offer options depending on the final status of my truck. Happy Holidays, All.
  2. The heart is the first thing I eat. I\'ve tried the liver in the past and didn\'t care for it too much but I do cook it anyway and share it with my dog (Charlie) he loves it. I\'ll try the tongue next time considering the price for beef tongue in meat stores are outrageous.
  3. Congrats. I hear shots all around my area but no shots coming from me, yet.
  4. I went out opening day O\'dark thirty, bad decision. I have extreme vertigo and I had a hard time gaining my balance in limited visibility especially when my eyes are fixated on my flashlight. I jumped something and it scurried away so I sat there until daylight came and kept moving to my desired location. I bumped a big buck and all I got was the proverbial middle finger of a whitetail as it ran away. I didn\'t see anything else for the rest of the day. Didn\'t hunt today; oil change and tire rotation on my truck. Will be out tomorrow though. Good luck everyone.
  5. Sorry Bro, I got nothing.
  6. (Team 4) Spike Point Contribution Well I shot this deer (I thought was a doe till this morning) last night around 6:45 with my Hoyt Maxxis. Used lighted nock for the first time, I don\'t know why I didn\'t try it sooner. The nanny doe that was with this deer was twice its size but wouldn\'t give me a clear shot. I didn\'t even see this deer till it was on top of me. I located it about 20yds from where the blood trail ended. The shot was a little bit farther back than I wanted but the exit wound was perfect. I\'m sorry about the poor quality of the pic from my cell phone, my camera was on the fritz.
  7. I luv u doode man, pass the shine.
  8. Tell him to keep safe and aim small, miss small.
  9. Well sighting is rare and patterning them would be a bigger task. I\'ll just have to do my fieldwork and gather data when I can. 6 of one and half a dozen of the other. Thanx for the info, I\'ll start with that.
  10. I\'ve never shot a mechanical broadhead because I like to keep it simple. I chose fixed broadheads from the very beginning of my bowhunting endeavor because the chances of something in the system to fail increases with each moving part especially when traveling at ludicrous speed (Mel Brooks). I think the mechanical broadheads made available today is largely over engineered and unnecessary just to increase market sales. Besides the fixed broadhead that I use has never failed me. I do agree your success relies largely on your shot placement. I have made a poor shot on a doe when I first started bowhunting, using the same broadheads I do now. I shot her in the hind quarter but my arrow deflected forward into her abdomen, as she was running I can see the arrow was just shredding her insides as she fell not 30 yrds from where I shot her. I\'ve used G5 ever since.

  12. Right on. Ain\'t seen no hogs where I hunt.
  13. Well previous analysis was all wrong. I found my spike buck 20 yards from where I lost the blood trail this morning. No sign of coyote coming to dinner last night. Dragged him off the ridge this morning to the road and into my truck. the shot was a little further back than I wanted but the exit wound was fatal (quartering away). I took a picture of it with my cell phone and took more with my camera once I got him home but my camera was corrupted and couldn\'t produce the pics. I got it all checked in and into the cooler by lunch time. Once I figure out how to extract the pic from my cell, I will post.
  14. sharps4590, The wife decided she did not want to go to the food and wine tasting thingy at Rolla after all. I don\'t know who was sponsoring it or where exactly it is. My daughter asked if we were interested in going since one of her acquaintances had tickets.
  15. Thanx. The temperature right now is about 60 F she should keep till morning. I\'ll be up bright and early.
